International Baccalaureate Candidate School

The Manila Times College of Subic is currently a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate. Candidate status signifies that the school is actively engaged in a structured and rigorous process toward becoming an authorized IB World School.

This process involves curriculum alignment, faculty training, and the establishment of systems that support international standards of teaching and learning. While candidacy does not yet grant authorization to offer full IB programmes, it demonstrates the school’s dedication to educational quality and continuous improvement.

Through this pathway, TMTCS seeks to foster learners who are inquiring, knowledgeable, principled, and open-minded. Instructional practices emphasize research skills, communication, collaboration, and ethical responsibility. The school continues to strengthen its academic framework to ensure readiness for full IB implementation in the future.

Mission Statement from the IB

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
